My progress so far...

This is a picture of me 1 year ago weighing in at 370lbs now it has been a year later and I am still continuing my journey but I can see a big difference. I feel so much better then what I did.

Some Tips that help me make the right decisions

*Making your meals with lots of vegetables and fruit in a variety of colors *Eat a lot of high fiber food. *Try to include fish in my diet 2-3 times a week *Remove skin from the chicken and turkey before eating *Reduce red meat and frequency *include small amounts of healthy fats daily such olive and canola oil, nuts, seeds, avocado *Choose low milk that is either 1% or 2% *Drink water and sugar-free beverages *Prepare meals from scratch as often as possible *Eat out less often *Limit sodium, saturated and trans fat *Limit packaged and processed food *Limit refined grains, sweets and sugars *Limit alcohol consumption *Always reading the labels *Eat three meals per day at regular time This biggest thing is to track your meals and activity with a journal or food tracker app so that in the future you can help yourself be accountable for your choices and positive changes as well if your having a hard time losing weight you can look back and see where you think you went wrong and make better choices in the future.

Holiday Eating

I hope that Everyone had a great Easter...Eating during the holiday can be rough sometimes but I tend to look at what I can eat instead of what I can't eat I know it can be hard sometimes...My Easter dinner included Roasted carrots, ham, and mashed cauliflower with bacon and cheese.

Portion control

One of the biggest adjustments was portion control in my meals by taking away the bad stuff and add more good things to my life change. I used this chartthat I was given to help with the changes

Where I started...

After coming to terms with my weight I knew I had to make changes but I never knew where to start so my family doctor referred me to another person that works with the Diabetes & Obesity Education program and with her help I had a starting point in my life. So I met with her and we talked about my history and how I got to this point in my life. I explained my history and we talked about in my family it may also be a genetic history with my habits from eating bad. I explained that I have tried diets in the past from diet pills to different fads I seen online. I explained to her that I want to make this change for me and my future.

Coming to terms with my weight...

A Year ago I started my Journey of getting my life back. I reached a point that in my life that I had a conversation with my doctor and with the way my body was feeling and all the medical issues I was having that I need to make a change now or within the next 5 years I may not be here. So my Doctor sent me to a nutritionist and with her help I was able to start my Journey to a healthier life. I weighed in at 370lbs and that was a hard number to see I never use to weigh myself but when this number came up it shocked me.
